Service Description

This class is designed for all true animal lovers who want to share their passion for art and animals. Get together with like-minded people, learn the fundamentals of drawing and make new friends along the way. All creatures great and small will be equally considered: draw or paint wildlife or your beloved pet, the choice is yours! You will learn how to enhance your observational drawing skills and be guided through the process of creating animal and nature drawings from scratch. We will use a range of different materials starting with simple pencil sketches to more advanced illustrations using coloured pencils, charcoal, pastels, and water colour pencils. Your experienced tutor is also a passionate volunteer wildlife carer and can provide you with some exciting facts about Australian wildlife and rehabilitation. We hope to raise more awareness for animal rights and protection. This is a beginner friendly class, everyone is welcome (you don’t have to be vegan to participate). This is also a great class for wildlife carers, rescuers, activists, and organisations to catch up, share stories, and enjoy a fun and relaxing time together. (Please contact us before you book as we will provide volunteer wildlife carers with a discount voucher!) What to bring: You only need to bring basic material such as a sketchbook A3 or A4 pencils( HB, B 4B) and eraser. Bring something to drink and snacks if you like! We will offer vegan cookies and provide all colouring material! Duration: 2h class Requirements: 18+, for beginner and intermediate students. By the way, at Scribble Cat Studios we use art supplies which are free of animal-derived materials. For example, many oil pastels are made with animal fat and wax. We choose soft pastels instead. Paintbrushes marketed as having “natural” hair in their bristles are anything but cruelty-free. We always choose synthetic brushes for our classes. We use vegan friendly suppliers such as: Derwent, Faber Castell, Hahnemühle, Strathmore, Copic and more.
