Service Description

In this course you will learn the fundamentals about character development for visual storytelling. Learn about different types of characters, stylisation, and how to express the various moods of a character. Explore the significance of observation to draw accurate features and poses. Learn how to define the important features of your character and how to exaggerate them to create a cartoon like and engaging illustration. This fun and inspiring class is for all skill levels. You will start with simple doodles of your character ideas and develop them further in to more advanced drawings. You will get individual guidance to enhance your sketches by considering structure, volume and stability. Then you will learn how to create your character in a convincing way, so it will able to draw an emotional connection to the audience. MATERIALS Drawing Sketchpad (A4/A3), pencils, sharpener, eraser. HANDS-ON EXPERIENCE: We are focusing on traditional art making and hand drawing/non-digital concept drawing! Through this physical and tactile experience, you will get a broader view how this material can be used and the physical creation will improve your hand-eye coordination as well as motor skills. Furthermore, traditional artworks are hard to copy, each handmade creation will show your personal style and will be truly unique! DURATION: 4 week course all skill levels, 16+
